Finally, an article(article no longer available) about how some in the medical community are taking the ADA (and others) to task for recommending high-carb diets for those with Diabetes. Given the basics about macronutrients, it seems ridiculously obvious that such a diet would be anything but helpful with such a disease, yet it is recommended because of the straw men of potential (yet completely unproven) threats of heart disease due to higher amounts of fat in the diet. It’s almost as if the ADA were recommending such a diet in order to stay in business. It is really too bad that the “authorities” that we are supposed to look to for advice are so clueless and unwilling to think openly and rationally and instead adhere to old dogma for fear of admitting mistakes or simply kowtowing to the USDA and it’s engine of influence to promote grains as a staple in the diet…
